Dear Plymouth Church
Many of you already heard the announcement at church but I wanted to send a letter as well. I have recently accepted a full-time position outside of the church. My last Sunday in worship at Plymouth will be November 10th. I will be working at a not-for-profit/justice organization, doing health care advocacy and education. The position will take me throughout the State of Kansas working especially with vulnerable populations.
It has been my great honor to serve as your Pastor of Care and Welcome. What a rich and God-filled time it has been. I have had the great honor of praying with and for your families, both in times of joy and in sorrow. I have walked with more than 100 of you as you have become new members of Plymouth! There have been Pride celebrations in the park. Preaching the Apocalypse. Reading Bibles with the 3rd graders. Dinner Church on Palm Sunday. Labyrinth walking during Advent. Eating cookies weekly in the Mayflower Room.
I will sincerely miss being with this congregation each week. I will also miss working with the stellar staff that leads this church. I feel deeply that God is calling me down a new path at this time. Please pray for me as I begin on this journey. I will continue to pray for you.
May God bless you and keep you, and may you continue to bring the light of Christ into the world through the wide open doors of Plymouth Congregational UCC.
Peace,
Rev. Heather Coates
