Join Plymouth Members for Fellowship on Foot at the 5K Home Run

Looking for a family-friendly event for Memorial Day – that also gives you plenty of time to commemorate the holiday? (And bonus points for one that supports a Plymouth mission partner?)

Join us for the 5K Home Run! The 5K Home Run benefits Family Promise of Lawrence, which serves local families on the brink of, currently experiencing or recovering from homelessness. FPL served 266 local families in 2022, which included 479 children.

In Person: Monday, May 29 8:30 a.m. Start Time South Park

Virtual: Anytime, anywhere between May 23-29 (Yes, that means while on vacation or on your treadmill!) Register for our Plymouth Pacers team!

$30 for individuals | $25 for teams | $35 on race day

Walkers and runners of all ages, plus strollers and dogs on a leash are welcome! Participants receive a race T-shirt, and in-person runners can vie for medals rewarding the top 3 times in each age category. We’ll have lots of free kids’ activities at South Park that morning, including bounce houses, a fun run with finisher medals, face painting, giant

bubbles, and a fire truck! Sarah Plake, KSHB-TV 41 anchor, will emcee the event.

New this year: The largest congregational team will earn bragging rights and the inaugural 5K Home Run traveling trophy! (You know you want this, Plymouth!)

A 5K isn’t your thing, but you still want to help? Please consider donating to the 5K Home Run’s fundraiser. Our goal is $10,000, and you can donate quickly and easily through GiveGab.com or via check (write 5K donation in the memo line). If you’d like to fundraise on behalf of the 5K, we can set up a page for you. The top fundraisers will earn gift cards from Lawrence Beer Co.!

Let’s lace up those sneakers to help run family homelessness out of Lawrence!

We couldn’t put on this event without volunteers, either. From manning check-in tables, passing out water and removing timing chips at the finish line, keeping runners safe at intersections, helping with kids’ activities, and more, there’s something for everyone. Sign up! Volunteers also receive a T-shirt.
