A Ceremony of Carols

Chancel Choir Major Choral Work – Sunday, December 11
A Ceremony of Carols by Benjamin Britten

Make sure to attend the 9:30 a.m. service this Sunday to hear the major choral work that our Chancel Choir will present to the congregation as a gift.

Composed in 1942, A Ceremony of Carols by Benjamin Britten is an enchanting piece of music due to its simplicity. It consists of eleven movements accompanied by harp of which eight are medieval carols sung in Middle English. The sound evokes the hopeful, watchful sense of the days leading up to Christmas.
